The Teach Engineering website has two potential activities that you can use.

Hot potato, cool foil—Uses calorimeters to determine the specific heat of three substances: aluminium, copper and another of their choice.

Counting calories—Students can discover the basics of heat transfer in this activity by constructing a constant-pressure calorimeter to determine the heat of solution of potassium chloride in water.
