Biology activity observing skin cells

Biology activity observing skin cells: We have been asked to prepare the experiment for Yr 10 students to do- Observing Skin Cells - for observation under the microscope. Students take sticky tape and press it onto the back of their hands or wrists, mount the tape on a slide containing a drop of methylene blue stain and then observe the stained cells under the microscope.

Is this still okay to do given the current COVID-19 conditions and if they wash their hands first? We have had some replies from other schools saying the experiment is banned, but that seems to be the skin scrapings one, this one is a sticky tape one.
