This online resource looks at tides as renewable source of energy.

The resource looks at the research surrounding the use of tidal power generation for the Tiwi peoples who live in the town of Nguiu on Bathurst Island.

The video provides information on how tidal energy could be used to supplement the town's electricity supply.

The resource also provides students with questions to consider whilst viewing the video and discussion points for afterwards.

There is also a research question for students to research surrounding renewable energy and turbines.

This resource would support the implementation of a unit on tidal power and/or renewable energy.
