This online Flash-based resource allows students to explore the various physical features of animals and how these features help those animals meet their needs.


Students can come to understanding that the needs of living things include: food, water, shelter and safety from predators. Students can also engage with images and videos of animals to observe their features and how they move. There is a range of animals included in the material such as emus, goannas, sugar gliders and sharks.


Students are also encouraged to explore their local environments to determine the range of living things that could be found there.

This media collection could be used in conjuction with the PrimaryConnections unit—Fur, feathers and leaves. 


This Flash-based resource will not work on an Apple iPad.
