This online resource investigates the scale of the universe.

The resource is an interactive that will help students understand the relative sizes of everything in the universe, from the very largest super galaxies down to the smallest subatomic particles.

It explores the concept of distance and size. This resource also includes a number of videos to support the concepts introduced in the animation.

Additional Information

This animation is most suitable for Year 10 students studying Cosmology, but is also suitable as a resource for teaching atomic theory.

Currently, this site is best used using a browser other than Google Chrome as that browser does not handle the interactive aspects of the graphic well (As of November 2022).
