There are several different organisations that provide opportunities and programs to engage with schools to help them meet their curriculum requirements. These include commercial companies, government departments and other educational institutions and organisations.

Some suggestions for investigations/activities are:

‘Depth Study- Genetic Technologies, DNA & Disease’, Garvan Institute of Medical Research website, (Accessed Jan 2023) Includes information and a link to a Depth Study Teachers Guide.

‘Engage with us - Genetics Depth Study’, Macquarie University – Science for Schools website,  (Accessed Jan 2023) Includes information for how to book an on-campus depth study day.

‘Kickstart Science’, The University of Sydney Faculty of Science website, (Accessed Jan 2023) Information on workshops and regional tours for Year 11 and 12 students for physics, chemistry and biology.

‘Practical Biology’, Nuffield Foundation website, (Accessed Jan 2023) Includes a collection of experiments that demonstrate biological concepts and processes.

‘Programs & resources – High school’, Sydney Water website, (Accessed Jan 2023). Includes a range of excursions, programs and resources for the NSW syllabus.
